With any ab workout after pregnancy and to heal a diastasis recti condition, you want to do exercises and perform activities that specifically strengthen and tone your deep muscle; the transverse abdominis. These 6 exercises on this video are some of my favourites. Although this video is not a  ‘classic’ diastasis recti workout, it brings variety and functional moves where you are standing but need to engage your deep muscle the RIGHT way to strengthen and tone the RIGHT way!

Diastasis recti safe exercises avoid placing stress or pressure on the connective tissue at your midline ( linea alba). This connective tissue joins the 2 vertical halves of your rectus abdominis muscle (aka your ‘six-pack’). During pregnancy, this connective tissue is stretched as your baby grows inside of you. This stretching can sometimes lead to tearing with increased abdominal pressure (intra-abdominal pressure); both the stretching or tearing is what’s known as diastasis recti.
