There are some key differences
There are some key differences between your graduate and undergraduate education that matter a lot. Most people do not understand these differences until you actually pursue a graduate education, but I will try to discuss them.
This is different than a graduate degree in a professional program, such as a Masters of Nursing, or MBA. These are going to be just extensions of an undergraduate program.
Here are some key differences:
You will be expected to work in a team or on your own on research projects in graduate school. Graduate school is about research.
You will be expected to understand Theory. You will actually be developing new ideas, and you will get good at understanding one particular theoretical perspective in graduate school. this means that you will develop and appreciation of how difficult it is to create a good idea.
You will be expected do you spend the majority of your day talking and thinking about ideas. Sometimes it doesn't feel like work, when you're having a discussion with somebody else about ideas.
The courses are going to be much more difficult, and often are unattainable without tricks and working together to complete the work.
You will feel unbelievably lost, and alone, and have many negative feelings compared to an undergraduate degree.
You will likely feel like the least smartest person in the room.
If you're passionate about the particular topic, you'll likely not want to ever stop doing research.
