Butter chicken (chicken makhani) is an extremely popular Northern Indian dish at restaurants here in America. It's chunks of chicken cooked in a tomato and butter-based sauce and it is typically served with basmati rice and/or naan.
Butter chicken is high in fat and protein and, so, a keto-friendly recipe as It is low in carbs.
All the Ingredients are displayed step by step and whole cooking method/recipe is shown in the video till the end.
Step by step Tutorial/ Cooking Method:
- Marinate the chicken with unsweetened plain yogurt and seasonings given in the video and keep it aside for 30 minutes
-  In a non-stick wok, spray some oil then fry the marinated chicken pieces in it, once fully cooked separately take it out.
- In the same wok add butter, onion paste, seasonings. When cooked add tomato paste and tomato sauce.
- Add some water and seasonings according to your taste or as shown in the video demonstration. Evenly mix it and let it simmer for 10 minutes
- Add room temperature milk, cream, then cook again for 2 minutes, add chicken and kasoori meethi and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Garnish it with cream and kasoori meethi, coriander/parsley or green onions/shallots. We are using black and white sesame seeds!
Butter Chicken is ready to be served alongside Jeera rice, Turmeric Rice, plain fluffy Basmati Rice, Boiled Rice, Tandoori Roti, Naan or Paratha.
