Craving a rich, creamy, and flavorful butter chicken but short on time? This one-pot butter chicken recipe is your perfect solution!
With tender chicken pieces simmered in a luscious tomato-based sauce, this dish is not only easy to prepare but also incredibly delicious. Whether you’re a seasoned cook or a kitchen newbie, this step-by-step guide will help you create a mouth-watering meal that everyone will love. Serve it with naan, rice, or your favorite bread for a complete meal.
Ingredients:
• 500 g chicken
• 3 tbsp butter
• 1 big onion, finely chopped
• 2 tbsp curd
• 6 garlic cloves
• 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
• 2-3 tomatoes, chopped
• 2 tbsp heavy cream
• 2 tsp garam masala
• A pinch of food color
• 6-7 cashews
• 1 & 1/2 tsp red chili powder
• Salt to taste
• Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions:
1. Marinate the chicken with curd, red chili powder, food color, and salt. Set aside for 30 minutes.
2. Heat butter in a pot. Sauté chopped onion until golden. Add tomatoes and garlic, cook until soft.
3. Add garam masala, red chili powder, salt, and cashews. Pour in water and cook the gravy until done. Blend into a smooth paste.
4. In the same pot, fry the chicken pieces until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
5. In the pot, cook the leftover marinade until it simmers. Add the blended gravy and cook for 10 minutes.
6. Add fried chicken pieces, a teaspoon of sugar, and cook for 5 more minutes. Stir in heavy cream and simmer for 20-25 minutes until thickened.
7. Garnish with kasuri methi and serve hot with naan or rice.
