Today we are sharing a mouth-watering tarte recipe. It’s a variation of the traditional French tarte “Tatin” with pears instead of apples. The tarte Tatin, named after the Tatin sisters who invented it and served it in their hotel as its signature dish, is a pastry in which the fruit is caramelized in butter and sugar before the tart is baked. Ingredients for the Dough:
250 gr. plain flour
130 gr. icing sugar
200 gr. Butter
¼ tsp. salt
½ tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. cold water
1 tsp. vanilla extract

For the Filling:
8 medium pears
100 gr. brown sugar
50 gr. Butter
½ tsp. cinnamon powder

For the Topping:  
30 ml. cognac (or brandy, liquor)
50 gr. pecans
