Why do we always use chapssal 찹쌀 for makgeolli?  What happens if we substitute jasmine rice?  Let's find out!

Chapssal is sweet rice, also called glutinous rice (no gluten, just called glutinous because it is sticky when cooked).

I do a side by side comparison between these two kinds of rice, using a single stage recipe (danyangju 단양주) with godubap 고두밥.
