Manage Permission Groups
Permission groups are used to define a groups of employees. These employees share some common specific attributes. We can use various attributes to select the group members for e.g. a user's division, department, location etc.
There might be a permission group called "Recruiters in Germany", which lists all Germany-based employees who work in the recruiting department. To define this group, users must match the selection criteria which in this case is "Country = Germany" and "Department = Recruiting".
The selection criteria that are available for defining groups can be configured in the data models.
Permission roles can be assigned to the permission groups. We can also use groups to define the target population that a granted user has access to.
The group "Recruiters in Germany" might have access to the group "Germany Employees".
Static groups are those which are configured with username as the criteria. This means we specifically add all the group members individually to the group.
Dynamic groups are those which are configured with criteria other than specific user names.
This means that the assignment of employees into and out of a group is automated.
For example, a group of granted users can be “All employees in the Recruiting department”. As employees are transferred into and out of the recruiting department, their permissions will adjust automatically. This will save both time and money. This is beneficial for large organizations that need higher levels of efficiency.
