Episode 5 of Fargo (FX) season 4 sees things reach the point of no return for Loy Cannon (Loy Cannon). Josto Fadda (Jason Schwartzman) uses his influence over the police in Kansas City to deal a blow, but his brother Gaetano takes things further taking out Loy’s conciergerie Doctor Senator (Glynn Turman). Deafy Wickware (Timothy Olyphant) is closing in on the fugitives he’s chasing, but Loy gets to them first.

Ethelrida Pearl Smutny (E’myri Crutchfield) is considering turning in her neighbor Oraetta Mayflower (Jessie Buckley) after finding out last week that she’s a serial killer. There isn’t much Oraetta in episode 5, but she’s set up to be the wild card in the fourth season. Ethelrida visits Zelmare and Swanee for advice on what to do, and gets a lesson in the difference between criminals and outlaws.

Josto thinks he can stop the Cannons from escalating their war, and then his brother Gaetano will return to Italy. Rabbi Milligan warns him that his brother is trying to take over, and we see that he’s doing what he wants using Constant Calamita as his right hand man. We see Gaetano kill two innocent people in a bar, and then he has Constant take out Doctor Senator knowing his brother wouldn’t approve.

The fourth season of Fargo, an American anthology black comedy–crime drama television series created by Noah Hawley, premiered on September 27, 2020, on FX, and will consist of 11 episodes. The season was originally scheduled to premiere on April 19, 2020, but this was postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
As an anthology, each Fargo season possesses its own self-contained narrative, following a disparate set of characters in various settings and eras, albeit in a connected shared universe centered around the Midwestern United States and the titular city of Fargo, North Dakota. The fourth season is set in 1950 in Kansas City and the story follows two crime syndicates as they vie for control. The cast is led by Chris Rock, who plays Loy Cannon, the head of a crime syndicate made up of black migrants fleeing the Jim Crow South who have a contentious relationship with the Kansas City mafia. Other cast members include Jessie Buckley, Jack Huston, Jason Schwartzman, Ben Whishaw, and Timothy Olyphant.
