Swedish Meat Balls

This meatball recipe was popularized all over the world by Ikea, a Swedish furniture store.  In cooking school, Swedish meat balls are described as a dish of meat balls with a brown gravy.  According to the Swedish, they have to be served with Lingonberries.  Lingonberries are small red, cherry-like fruits popular in the Scandinavia which are made into jams and syrups or preserves.  My version is simple meatballs with a brown gravy – just how I learned it in cooking school.  I also like to cook my version with canned button mushrooms.  Some French beans and carrots would be a good side for this dish. A winner among the kids in the family.
