In this video, we delve into a recent job we undertook in Parramatta for an AGL customer experiencing issues with their Fibre to the Basement (FTTB) connection. Despite their ISP's diagnosis of a bridge tap issue, the problem persisted even after we removed the bridge tap.
The customer's unique situation saw their sync and internet lights solidly on, yet they were unable to load a standard Google webpage. Interestingly, they could still stream YouTube videos and use WhatsApp, indicating that the issue was not with their cabling.
After thorough testing, we confirmed that the customer's cabling was in perfect condition. This led us to conclude that the issue was likely a programming error on the ISP's side, a problem with the router, or another network-related issue.
Unfortunately, this customer was misadvised by AGL. Despite our removal of the bridge tap, the issue seems to be related to the NBN or the router. We believe that AGL should refund the full service call fee to the customer, as they were incorrectly advised about the nature of the issue.
In this case, AGL should have sent out an NBN technician themselves, rather than having the customer find their own private NBN technician.
