In 2002, it was announced that Namco, Gaga Communications, and Steven Paul's Crystal Sky Pictures were developing a live-action feature film adaptation of the formermost's popular fighting video and arcade game series Tekken, which follows the events of the King of Iron Fist Tournament, hosted by the Mishima Zaibatsu, where a plethora of combatants duke it out in an attempt to win the tournament and gain control of the company. Two years later, news came out that the project would be set up at the now-disgraced Bob and Harvey Weinstein's Dimension Films, with Drumline helmer Charles Stone III tapped to direct from a screenplay written by Face/Off scribes Michael Colleary and Mike Werb. The studio intended to budget the film at $60 million, desiring an action fantasy with extensive visual effects. A year after that, it was revealed that Sony's Screen Gems was attached to the property as well, with production set to begin in the fall of 2005. Alas, this incarnation of the project ultimately failed to materialize. Follow me and ponder the question, "What if...?"
