CBSE Class 10 Science Chapter 6 - Life Process - Heterotrophic mode of nutrition -
Heterotrophs depend on Autotrophs and other heterotrophic animals for their nutrition. Different type of organisms consume their nutrients in different ways:
1. Saprophytic Nutrition- Organisms break food outside the body and then absorb it. Like bread moulds, Yeast, Mushroom.
2. Holozoic Nutrition: Organisms break and digest food inside their body. Like humans and animals.
Also Different nature of food requires different digestive processes
3. Parasitic Nutrition: Organism derive nutrition from host. Like Lice, Leech, tape-worm
