Cohutta Wilderness Overnight - Darkness to Light

A fellow brother in Christ and I took a group of young men from church on an overnight in the Cohutta Wilderness. Our goal was to learn how Jesus lights our path through the darkness of this world as we walk with Him. Also to provide an opportunity for the younger ones to learn from their father as well as some of the older men while out in God’s creation. We camped at the Cottonwood Patch Campground. After dark we took a one mile night hike to see the Little Waterfall along a small branch that empties into Sheeds Creek and along the way we encountered glow sticks with attached Scripture to encourage us along the way. Later as we sat around the campfire  offering hiking and outdoor tips, the conversation soon turned to an uplifting time of affirmation and appreciation for each other. It turned cold overnight and some mysterious howling filled the night air creating unforgettable memories. The next morning we started at the Beech Bottom Trailhead and hiked approximately 4.5 miles down to the Jacks River Falls where we enjoyed lunch and a time of exploration of God’s amazing creation. Good Stuff indeed! We then headed back to the trailhead giving us a total of approximately 9 miles in and out.
