Definitely apologize for the sound quality. My phone took several underwater spills in the Jacks River.

I went on an overnight in the Cohutta Wilderness along the Jacks River Trail. The hike began at the Dally Gap Trailhead which can be accessed from Blue Ridge, GA (directions below). The Jacks River Trail stretches approximately 16 miles from Dally Gap to Alaculsy Valley along with 42 river crossings. Although my goal was to hike as far as I could before turning around, it didn’t take but a few miles to realize the unbelievable tangle of blowdowns would cause me to make a change of plans. In addition to the blowdowns an unexpected situation at a river crossing enforced the need to change plans. I hiked approximately 6.5 miles and 18 river crossings to the Penitentiary Branch Trail where I made the decision to adjust my adventure. It was at this location I made my camp for the night.

Thank you for hiking with Sleeves! Keep Hiking!

Dally Gap Trailhead Directions
