Understanding the Electronic Prescription Service

EPS enables patients to nominate the most convenient dispenser from which to collect their medication. If a patient has nominated a dispenser, digitally signed electronic prescriptions can be issued and sent directly to the pharmacy, ready for the patient to collect. EPS Direct to pharmacy has been used for a number of years now in England in GP practices. Over the pandemic period we've been working on projects that have seen non-GP users activate EPS, and returning NHS clinicians access refresher training, alongside the roll out of EPS phase 4. This session will cover all of these points to give the most up to date knowledge of EPS, and the benefits these projects have offered.
