Big Sky: Bear Back Platter

In Big Sky's vast collection of lifts, the Bear Back Platter often gets forgotten. This lift was installed used in 1993 mainly as a real estate access lift, but it also serves a nice little beginner slope. It is manufactured by Poma of America and is a fixed grip platter unlike its detachable counterparts. The lift uses a simple bottom drive with a floating bullwheel and counterweight tensioning at the top. It runs at a decent pace as well. It does not use springboxes but rather extendable "shock absorber" style tubes.
