The History: Zürs' Hexenbodenbahn serves
The History:
Zürs' Hexenbodenbahn serves as the primary lift on the Trittkopf side of the area. It was built by Doppelmayr in 2005 and replaced two separate chairlifts: Hexenbodenbahn I, a fixed-grip chair, and Hexenbodenbahn II, a detachable triple chair installed in 1984. The Hexenbodenbahn rarely sees lines so like many lift upgrades throughout Arlberg, this wasn't entirely necessary, but certainly a nice upgrade.
The Lift:
The Hexenbodenbahn was built by Doppelmayr in 2005 and features an enclosed UNI-G bottom drive terminal with carrier parking, bubble six-person carriers with heated seats, DT grips, and a UNI-G top return terminal. Funnily enough, the bottom terminal design closely resembles Doppelmayr's current D-Line R2 terminals. Capacity is rated at 2,409 p/h at a design speed of 5 m/s (~985 ft/min), although it typically runs slower.
