Big Sky: Swift Current 4

In 1996, this Doppelmayr high speed quad replaced Gondola 2.  Initially it ran next to Gondola 1 which ran on busy days, but it was removed in 2008 after a catastrophic deropement, leaving this lift as the only access to the front side of Lone Peak.  Therefore lines are common on busy days.  Length is 8449 feet and vertical is 1645 feet.  Capacity is 2400/hr and it seems to run very close to the design speed of 1000 feet per minute.

Boyne was heavily criticized for upgrading Ramcharger to a bubble-8 instead of this lift.  However, they will address the crowding at this lift with a two stage gondola replacing Explorer and ending where the old Gondola One did, and a bubble-6 to directly replace this lift.  When replaced it will likely be relocated to the Moonlight Basin side to reconfigure the lift system and allow more terrain to be lapped off one lift.
