In Moving Avearge, as day progresses, the data of recent concluded day gets included and the day farthest back gets excluded.In simple #movingaverage, equal weightage is given to all data points whereas in exponential moving average , higher weights are given to recent data points. Usually closing prices are considered for calculating moving averages but if it is required one can use other data points as well. Most widely used moving average periods are 5,8,13,20, 34, 50, 100, 200 (Days). Shorter term moving averages are more sensitive to price changes compared to long-term moving averages.
Slope is the angle moving average makes with the horizontal axis. If the slope is positive, it indicates an uptrend and negative slope indicates a downtrend.
