There are many different variants of Wareniki. Instead of potatoes, you can also use strawberries or cherries. Good Appetite.

We need the following ingredients for Wareniki with potato filling and onions | Super easy

For the filling
- 500g potatoes
- 1 onion
- spices (1 teaspoon black pepper)

For the dough:
- 350 to 400 ml of water (warm)
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon of sunflower OIL
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- about 600g flour

👩‍🍳 Preparation: Wareniki with potato filling and onions

1. First we boil about 500g potatoes in salted water (mainly solid boiling)

2. Then we pound the potatoes with a pounder to make potato puree.

3. Now we fry 1 onion vigorously in clarified butter. Then we add it to our potatoes.

4. At this point you can season the potatoes. I add 1 teaspoon of black pepper.

5. Now let's make the dough. We put 400ml of warm water together with 1 egg in a bowl and mix everything. Then we add 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil and 1 teaspoon of salt and mix everything together again.

6. Now we gradually add approx. 600g flour to our bowl and make a nice dough out of it.

7. Knead well and then let the dough rest.

8. Now we cut the dough into 4 equal pieces and roll out one of them.

9. As soon as the dough is rolled out, I take a glass and cut circular pieces out of the dough. With this we will fill the Wareniki in a moment.

10. Now our potato filling comes into the small circular dough pieces and close the dough. The dough should enclose the entire filling.

11. Now take a large saucepan and add about 1 tablespoon of salt to your boiling water. I took 2.5 liters of water.

12. Into the boiling water. When the Wareniki swim above, they are done.

13. While the Wareniki are cooking, I fry 1 onion with a little clarified butter. I'll put that on top of the finished Wareniki afterwards.
