The Plasmid Cloning Cycle

In this video, we will introduce you to the plasmid cloning cycle.  The cloning cycle is a series of steps,  frequently performed iteratively,  during the creation of a molecular clone.  

By understanding the role of each of these steps, you should learn,  how these phases of the cloning experiment fit together when you are developing a complex molecular product.

INSTRUCTOR: JULIA GEORGE-RAIZEN
Julia George-Raizen received from the University of Michigan in 1991 in what would now be called Molecular Immunology. She has done post-doctoral work and later research using mice, cell lines, yeast, and C. elegans.

Julia has a front-row seat to the development and evolution of all current molecular biology techniques, from PCR to CRISPR, and taught at several universities in the Philadelphia area, including St. Joseph's University and Bryn Mawr College. She now works as a consultant in science communication and education.
