This Easy Gyudon Recipe is how we make our gyudon or Japanese beef bowl at home.This is a NO mirin, No sake ,No dashi version.
You'll be surprised you won"t taste a difference, and this is in fact how easy Gyudon is made on some of Japanese Fastfoods here. This recipe was shared by a close family relative who worked at a fastfood long time ago. Let's get started.
If you're looking for a recipe with Dashi etc..Then this is not the place for you. Sorry :(
This is also a Halal food.
Ingredients: (Makes 2 serving)
- 150g thinly sliced Beef
- 1 Large sliced white Onion
- Cooking Oil as little or as much as you like
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
(optional)
For Garnish:
* Benishoga ( japanese pickled ginger )
*Onsen Tamago ( pouched eggs)
*Shichimi (Japanese mixed chili pepper)
NOTE:
*** Do not over cooked.
*** Get beef slices as thin as possible and fresh.
Procedure:
* saute sliced onion in cooking oil.
* add the beef
* stir the beef until it turns brown
* pour soy sauce and sugar. stir.
* lower the heat
* simmer for 5 minutes
* turn off the heat
#### add 1 to 3 tablespoons of water if you want more sauce
#### adjust to your taste, lessen sugar if it's too sweet or the other
way around.
Serve on top of Rice.
