If you need a user-defined element in Abaqus in the Explicit solver, you must use the VUEL subroutine. If you go to the Abaqus documentation it says that this subroutine is for the advanced users only!! But with this video, we'll make it easy for you to understand and learn how to use this complicated subroutine with a very simple example.

Imagine you're building a complex model in a computer program. VUEL is a special tool that lets you define custom parts for your model.
VUEL gets called whenever you use one of these custom parts, and it needs to do some calculations. These calculations depend on what's happening in your model at that specific moment. Basically, VUEL takes care of the behind-the-scenes work for your custom parts, making them behave realistically within the bigger model.
