(10 Sep 1996) T/I 11:05:04 The leader of the Iraqi-backed Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Massud Barzani in Sulaymaniyah on Tuesday (10/9) hailed the victory of his forces over Kurd rivals the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) as a positive change which would herald the establishment of a democratic Kurdish state in northern Iraq.
