Turkey - Pelletreau and Barzani hold talks

US envoy Robert Pelletreau and Iraqi Kurd leader Massoud Barzani met on Monday (21/10) in Turkey for talks aimed at arranging a ceasefire with a rival Kurdish group in northern Iraq.
Turkish troops surrounded the building in which Barzani and Pelletreau
discussed how to reach a ceasefire between Barzani's Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Iranian-backed Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) led by Jalal Talabani.
On Saturday (19/10), Barzani inspected his KDP forces at the front line near Heybetsultan in northern Iraq.
