Former Gendarmerie Special Operations Officer Retired Lieutenant Colonel Şefik Ünal, who served within the Turkish Armed Forces for 27 years, talked about the establishment of the PKK and the Turkish Armed Forces' fight against the PKK at GZT.
According to known sources, the PKK terrorist organization was founded in November 1978, when leader Öcalan and seven of his friends came together in Lice, Diyarbakır. The PKK terrorist organization carried out its first terrorist attack on August 15, 1984, in Eruh district of Siirt and Şemdinli district of Hakkari.
