How quickly can an abusive person change?  3 months?  6 months?  After a life-changing epiphany?  After a really good apology?  Can an abusive partner change at all?

It's kind of a trick question, because the answer is that most abusive people never do make lasting change.  The mindsets about relationship roles, control, blame, and boundaries are very deep and don't just go away even if there appears to be a temporary decrease in the worst behaviors.  

For the few who do manage to change, the process usually takes years, not weeks or months.
