This story of Satyakama Jabala
This story of Satyakama Jabala gives clear information about the life of the people in the Upanishadic era, where qualities were considered more important than cast.
In the first part of the long story, Haridrumata Gautama accepted him as his disciple.

In this second part, it is described that Satyakama, following the order of his preceptor Gautama, takes his 400 cows to the forest and takes care of them. On his way back to the hermitage, four animals give him the eternal knowledge (Brahma Vidya). In this way, just by his service to the herd of cows and his truthfulness, Satyakama Jabala gets the ultimate knowledge.
