The banned Javelin Throw - The Spinning Technique.
In the 1950’s Spanish Throwers discovered a way to vastly improve the distance of a javelin toss. They would Spin around in a circle to build up rotational momentum similar to a discus thrower before releasing the javelin. It became know as “spinning the javelin”
“The Spanish-Style”
But it was quickly outlawed and this technique is not allowed in competition!
