What effects will the construction
What effects will the construction of Europacity in Berlin have on the surrounding area? How will the neighborhood change?Will established structures be destroyed?
The third video on Europacity is about Lehrter Strasse on the western side of the tracks. In the past, the area was characterized by railroad facilities, prisons and military uses. Later, apartment buildings and sports facilities were added.
At the time of the division of Berlin, Lehrter Strasse was on the outskirts of West Berlin, and there was very inexpensive residential and commercial space. Since the 90s, a lot of redevelopment has taken place and just recently, there has been plenty of new construction.
