Are you doing your single leg exercises correctly!?

Unilateral work is commonly recommended for fixing imbalances like the single leg deadlift BUT, so many people get it WRONG and they are just strengthening mobility issues that they already have in really bad way.

The single leg deadlift should look like a two legged deadlift - on one leg! If your pelvis is starting to twist open when you are on one side and not on the other then you will effectively be causing your own imbalances.

This is how you can end up giving yourself SERIOUS back and hip problems over time so what we want to see is that the pelvis is in line the entire time - if you are not aware of this, you can do as many as you like and you are never going to get ANY benefits.

The video shows some great ways to correct this!

Make sure to record yourself when doing these as often times what you think you are doing and what you are actually doing are very different things

Many things can be a factor when it comes to this twist and lack of control, but two main things to check would be your internal and external hip rotation and also your ankle mobility and foot strength!
