আমার বাবার মামাবাড়ী ছিল কালীঘাটের
আমার বাবার মামাবাড়ী ছিল কালীঘাটের মন্দিরের খুব কাছে। মন্দিরের মূল সেবায়েতরা ছিলেন তাঁদের বন্ধু, আর মাঝেমধ্যে তাঁরা পেতেন বলির মাংসের ভাগ। কখনও কখনও সে মাংস আসতো আমাদের বাড়ী। তা রান্না হতো পেঁয়াজ রসুন ছাড়া একদম অন্যভাবে। সে স্বাদ ভুলবার নয়। আরেকটি কথা- এখানে আমরা আবহে দিয়েছি আমাদের অতি শ্রদ্ধার রুপুদির কন্ঠে গান। তাঁর সে স্বর্ণকন্ঠের প্রতি এই হোক আমাদের শ্রদ্ধার অর্ঘ্য।
The maternal side of my father lived very close to the Kalighat temple. They were friends with the main priests of the temple, and would get share of the sacrificial meat often. Sometimes they would send it to us. That meat would be cooked without onion and garlic, in a different manner. And the taste would be unforgettable. One more thing- we have used the song rendered by Rupudi, a lady much respected by us. May this be our tribute to her golden voice.
