Incredible motorbike touring through the remote Indian Himalayas | Nubra Valley (N. India Ep 14)

We awoke in the beautiful
We awoke in the beautiful tourist village of Hunder, deep in the Shayok River Valley, part of the the awesome Nubra Valley region of the Indian Himalayas.
We only had a few days here, and to make the most of it we raced straight downriver to Turtuk, tiny village oasis on the border with Pakistan. We had to stop at every police checkpoint, and there were amy bases everywhere, so photo opportunities were limited. The scenery here is stunning, and the road conditions were awesome for riding on our rented Royal Enfield 350 Cruiser. Al still found the time to ride on a rare Bactrian Camel (two humps) as the sun set over the beautiful Hunder sand dunes.
The next day we rode the other half of our loop back to Leh. We thought this would be a well traveled route but we spent hours with no other traffic, as we crossed the rugged Warila Pass at over 5200m. Even our 350 was struggling! We got back safely to Leh, after an amazing few days in the Nubra Valley.

Al, from New Zealand and Kel from Australia met through work in 2010 and have been together ever since.
