But at home, such tandoori ovens are not available, so I've used frying pan for grill the paneer, and it turns out great. Ingredients for Dhaba Style Paneer Tikka Masala:

- 200 gm paneer (cut into cubes)
- 1/4 cup onion (cut into cubes)
- 1/4 cup capcicum (cut into cubes)
- 2 tbs oil(for fry the tikkas)

For marination-
- 2 tbs curd
- 1 tbs gram flour (or besan)
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp cumin powder
- 1/4 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- salt
- 1 tbs oil

For gravy-
- 2 tbs oil
- 1 large onion (finely chopped)
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- tomato-ginger-garlic paste(1 tomato, 1 inch ginger & 5 cloves of garlic)
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 tsp kasuri methi (roasted)
- salt

Method of Dhaba Style Paneer Tikka Masala-

- In a bowl add curd, besan, turmeric powder, kashmiri red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala & salt. Mix well & make a thick batter. (*If you feel that the batter is too thick, then add 1 tbs of curd more but don't use any water.) Add paneer cubes, onion, capcicum & oil into the batter. Mix everything well. Cover & refrigerate for 30 mins.
- Heat oil in a pan & add marinated paneer. Flip after sometime & fry for 6-7 mins on medium flame. Paneer Tikka is ready. Keep aside & lets make the gravy.
- For gravy heat oil in a pan & add onion. Fry for 2-3 mins on medium flame.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder. Add tomato-ginger-garlic paste & cook for 3-4 mins on medium flame.
- Add prepared Paneer Tikka & mix well. Add water & salt. Mix well & cook for 10 mins on medium flame with the lid on.
- Add garam masala powder & kasuri methi. Mix well & cook for 1 minute on high flame.
- Your Dhaba Style Paneer Tikka Masala is ready to serve.
