I can’t help it! I’ve
I can’t help it! I’ve been a rebel all my life, or so my mother used to say. I always wanted to go my own way. When I was in school I used to question everything. It started in grammar school and went on well into my Master’s years. I never left well enough alone.
And when it comes to travel it hasn’t been very different. I’ve been to dozens of places and I’ve never been on a tour. I’ve never been on a cruise either. I guess I just don’t like others to tell me what to do.
On the business front I paid my dues and then went my separate way. I spent a decade in the “big corporation” and then started my own business during the “desktop publishing” years. That led to 25 years serving the pharmaceutical market as a communications consultant.
During those years I made my first trip to Europe. It was a 44-day trip to Spain and Italy. My wife and I made a two-day reservation at a small hotel in Madrid and made up the rest as we went. I remember that we used to call from one city to the next looking for accomodations. when we got to city, and we like it, we stayed for a longer time. When we didn’t we left the next day.
Well guess what? That’s the way that we still travel today. That formula has led us to 22 U.S. National Parks and dozens of state parks during the past 5 years. Oh, and by the way, that’s the premise that Puerto Rico By GPS is built upon.
If you’re the kind of person that likes to travel on a tight schedule, with everything pre-planned, then Puerto Rico by GPS (https://www.psrxgps.com) will still help you, but not as much as it will people like me, who like to make things up as they go. My YouTube videos are also a reflection of this philosophy. Most of the original ones are general information videos that tell you about Puerto Rico, its people, their way of life and some of the mayor attractions on the Island. The newer ones that I’m starting soon will cover specific places with GPS coordinates for each attraction, much in the tradition of the Puerto Rico By GPS website.
