Hrishikesh Mukherjee wanted to name an Amitabh Bachchan film as Raag Ragini. This movie also had Jaya Bhaduri who later became Jaya Bachchan in the lead role with Amitabh Bachchan. Finally Hrishikesh Mukherjee named this film as Abhimaan that released in 1973. The story of this film was inspired by a real life couple who were friends with Hrishikesh Mukherjee. This video gives all the information about the real life couple that inspired Hrishikesh Mukherjee to write the story of Abhimaan. While signing this film Jaya Bhaduri was a big star but when the movie released, Amitabh Bachchan had become the bigger Bollywood star. The music of Abhimaan was given by Sachin Dev Burman who won a Filmfare award for the same.
