At the time of meeting each other, both Salim Khan & Javed Akhtar were struggling in Bollywood and were yet to formally launch themselves as the screenwriting duo Salim-Javed. After meeting each other both Salim Khan & Javed Akhtar decided to pair up and write scripts and dialogues for Bollywood movies. The pair of Salim-Javed has been credited with creating the image of the angry young man in Bollywood and making the career of Amitabh Bachchan who greatly benefitted from playing the angry young man roles written by Salim-Javed.
