Villa Romana del Casale - UNESCO World Heritage Site

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is Villa Romana del Casale, an ancient Roman villa tucked away in remote central Sicily. Little is known about the villa itself - we don't know who built it, when exactly, or why - but we do know that the entire grand building is covered in beautifully preserved floor mosaics. These cover many different subjects, including hunts, Roman mythology, religion, scenes of daily life, and simple geometric patterns. We were absolutely blown away by the quality and the detail on display - let's have a look!
