In this video we take the AVE 2082 from Madrid Puerta de Atocha to Málaga María Zambrano. The only intermediate stop of this train is Córdoba
Until Córdoba the train takes the Madrid - Sevilla high speed railway, the first one in Spain. It was opened in 1992 and is based on german high speed railways from Hannover to Würzburg or from Mannheim to Stuttgart. Maximum speed is 270 km/h until shortly after Puertollano, 300 km/h only on two short parts. Then the speed is limited to 250 km/h at most. Between Villanueva de Córdoba and Córdoba the bridges got restored when the video was recorded, so the railway got reduced to single track there and the speed was decreased to 120 km/h. In the south of Córdoba the train branches off onto the high speed railway to Málaga. There it can go 300 km/h, before reaching the sunny mediterranean metropolis.
The train is a spanish class 103, which was developed from the german ICE 3 trains and equals it except from some details. This train on this railway almost feels like being in Germany...
