Welcome to another journey with ICE!
We travel from Hamburg-Altona to Munich Hbf by ICE 1707. This train consists of two ICE T units, the 230 km/h fast tilting technology ICE train of Deutsche Bahn.
The train originates from Hamburg-Altona and goes directly to Hamburg main station, without stopping at Hamburg Dammtor. From there the next stop is only Berlin-Spandau, after leaving the 230 km/h fast Hamburg - Berlin railway behind. Berlin is being transited underground, then the ICE continues nonstop to Halle (Saale). Shortly after the high speed railway begins, which leads the train all the way to Bamberg via Erfurt. There are 300 km/h possible, but the ICE T has to get along with only 230 km/h. Between Erfurt and Bamberg the ICE 1707 leaves the high speed railway for a short time, in order to stop at Coburg. This station is already the second to last intermediate stop, because it just passes through Bamberg and Erlangen. Even the main station of Ingolstadt gets omitted, which makes Nuremberg Hbf the last intermediate stop before Munich Hbf.
