This is an easy to make side dish for rice. All you need is some lady’s finger, some spices, grated coconut and curd. We will take you through how to prepare this easy dish. This goes well with rice.

Ingredients
Lady’s finger – 150 grams
Grated coconut – 1½ cups
Shallots - 3
Green chilli – 2
Jeera – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Coconut oil – 2 tbsp
Mustard – 1 tsp
Fenugreek – ½ tsp
Asafoetida powder – ¼ tsp
Ginger – 1 inch piece (Julienned)
Julienned garllic – 2 tsp
Curd – 2 cups
Dry red chilli – 2
Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
Salt – to taste
Process
1. Heat 1 tbsp of coconut oil in a thick bottomed pan over medium flame
2. Add 150 grams of chopped lady’s finger and a little salt
3. Saute this for 10 minutes
4. Now take it out and keep it aside
5. In a blender add 1½ cups of grated coconut, 3 small onions, 2 green chillies, ½ tsp of jeera and ½ tsp of turmeric powder
6. Add a little water and grind this into a fine paste. Keep it aside
7. Heat 1 tbsp of coconut oil in a thick bottomed pan over medium flame
8. Add 1 tsp of mustard seeds
9. When it splutters, add ½ tsp of fenugreek seeds, 1 inch piece of ginger (julienned) and 2 tsp of julienned garlic
10. Saute this for sometime and add 2 dried red chillies, 2 sprigs of curry leaves and the lady’s finger
11. Saute this for some time and add the coconut paste
12. Saute this for 3 minutes
13. Now add 2 cups whipped curd, a little salt and ¼ tsp of asafoetida powder
14. Mix well
15. When it is about to boil, turn off the flame
16. Allow it to set for ½ hour
17. It is ready to serve. This goes well with rice
