• १/४ कप मुगडाळ
• चिमूटभर हिंग
• १/४ चमचा हळद

With Diwali round the corner, chakali is must. We already have seen 4-5 chakali recipes like bhajani chakali, wheat flour chakali, rice chakali, rava chakali etc. Today we will make moong dal chakali. This is a very easy and simple recipe. This can be a good alternative if you don’t have chakali bhajani. It tastes just awesome. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Do not forget to like, share and subscribe.

Ingredients:
• 1/4 cup Moong dal
• A pinch of Hing
• 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
• 1 cup Water
• 2 cups Maida
• 1/2 cup Water
• 1 tsp Red chili powder
• 1/4 tsp Ajwain / Carom seeds
• 1 tsp Coriander powder
• 1 tbsp White sesame seeds
• Salt to taste
• Oil for frying

Method:
• Wash moong dal really good 3-4 time with water and add hing, turmeric powder, water.
• Water proportion must be exact as we are not using any extra water.
• Cook the moong dal on medium heat until 3-4 whistles.
• Take maida in a pot.
• Heat up water in idly cooker and place a stand or jali at the base.
• Transfer the pot containing maida into it and steam on medium heat for 20 minutes.
• No need to cover the pot but if you want you can cover it with a cotton cloth.
• You can follow the same process in pressure cooker by removing the whistle.
• You can use a kadhai or big pot for the same process.
• Take the cooked moong dal and add water.
• Beat the dal really good and strain it well once to remove the small pieces of dal.
• We need smooth mixture of dal.
•  Take the steamed maida and loosen it with a fork.
• Strain the maida well through a sieve into a dish to remove the lumps.
• Add red chili powder, ajwain, coriander powder, white sesame seeds, salt and mix everything
 well together.
• Add a little cooked dal mixture at a time knead thick dough.
• It doesn’t need any additional water.
• Take a small portion of dough and fill it into chakali mold.
• Roll chakali from it on butter paper.
• You can use dish in place of butter paper.
• Seal both the ends of chakali really good so that those won’t open up while frying.
• Heat up oil on low to medium heat in a pan for frying.
• Drop chakali in hot oil and fry on low heat until crispy from both sides.
• After frying for about 3-4 minutes from one side flip the chakali over and fry well from other
 side too.
• After frying chakali well for about 2-3 minutes from other side take it out, drain excess oil and
 transfer into a dish.
• Moong dal chakali is all ready.
