Information is at the heart of modern warfare. How it is gathered, verified, analysed and deployed are crucial to success for a modern defence force. But, Information Warfare is not a one-way street. Weaponised misinformation is a theatre of combat in its own right, with the potential to undermine Australia’s democratic institutions, social cohesion, and the relationships with our allies.

Novel elements of information warfare are part of Australia’s asymmetric advantage arsenal.

The Australian Defence Science, Technology and Research (ADSTAR) Summit brings the innovation, science and technology enterprise together to share ideas on a global scale and will be held at the National Convention Centre in Canberra from 17 to 19 September 2024.

A must-attend event for small-to-medium businesses, industry, academia, and Government professionals who have expertise and interest in harnessing capability for a resilient Defence force. Attendees will hear from and engage with senior defence leaders and researchers, as well as defence industry representatives and other Australian and international researchers.

Attending in person is the best way to maximise your ADSTAR experience. However, the summit is offered as a hybrid event for those unable to travel. In this way, we can connect with partners face-to-face, across the country and around the world. There will be presentations, workshops, panel sessions, networking opportunities and an interactive exhibition floor as well as a gala dinner.
