In order a circuit to operate, it is essential to avoid overlapping signals. When a signal overlapping occurs, we basically deal with signals that are applied simultaneously at the two control ports of a double pilot valve. This will stop the sequence of the whole pneumatic system. In this video, it is shown we first explain what is signal overlapping in a pneumatic circuit. Then, it is explained how this can be avoided by the use of roller lever valve with an idle return. A multiple actuator pneumatic system is designed using FluidSIM initially with the use if roller lever valve with two signal overlappings during the cycle of operation. Then, the circuit is modified with the use of roller lever valve with idle return to eliminate the signal overlapping cases.
