David Soul: 60 Second Bio
David Soul, born David Richard Solberg on 28th August 1943 in Chicago, is an American actor and singer, best known for his iconic role as Detective Kenneth Hutchinson in the 1970s television series "Starsky & Hutch."
Starting his career on stage, Soul transitioned to television with appearances in popular shows of the time, before making his mark with the role of Joshua Bolt in the series "Here Come the Brides". However, it was his portrayal of the rugged yet compassionate detective in "Starsky & Hutch" that propelled him to international stardom.
In addition to acting, Soul pursued a successful music career. His hit single "Don't Give Up on Us" topped the charts in both the United States and the United Kingdom, and is musical talents continued to flourish with a series of albums.
His versatile acting career also includes several appearances in West End shows.
