Catch the extremely rare action of one of the oldest class Locomotives WDP-1 twin ALCo's gracefully chugging over the massive Kadiyam Curve situated between Rajahmundry and Samalkot Stations on the Vijayawada - Vishakapatnam Main lines.
WDP1s homed at Vijayawada Diesel Loco shed hauling the Kakinada Town bound 17209 Bangalore City - Kakinada Seshadri Express heading towards Samalkot Junction.
Location : Kadiyam , Rajahmundry , East Godavari Andhra Pradesh. South Central Railways.
Train : 17209 BANGALORE CITY - KAKINADA TOWN , SESHADRI EXPRESS
LOCO : BEZAWADA / VIJAYAWADA DIESEL LOCO SHED WDP-1s 15059 & 15049 .
WDP 1 (Bo-Bo bogies. 80 tons weight. Rated speed of 140 kmph. 12 cylinder engine. 2300 hp. Built by Diesel Locomotive Works in 1970. Homed at Vijayawada and Tughlakabad Diesel Sheds only.
BZA WDP-1 locomotives can be spotted only on the Vijayawada - Rajahmundry Chord line section.
