This seminar addresses all substantive changes made to the seismic provisions of Chapters 11, 12, and 22 of ASCE 7-10, Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures, from the 2005 edition.
This two-hour seminar fully explains the four major changes to the seismic maps and reasons as to why these changes were found necessary. Findings about how they affect seismic design results are presented. Other changes found in Chapters 11, 12, and 22 are explained including changes to Table 12.2-1 (the R-values table), revised triggers for dynamic analysis, new fundamental period formula, new exception when checking drift, new required design forces for collectors, new provisions for wall anchorage, and other changes found in Chapters 11, 12 and 22. The Significant Changes to the Seismic Load Provisions of ASCE 7-10: An Illustrated Guide, published by ASCE, is the basis for this web seminar.
