My dad, grandma and I
My dad, grandma and I went to the railroad museum in late August to see the "new" Eisenhower train exhibit. Back in mid - 2012, the loco was moved back to Great Britain to meet with sister locomotive Mallard and four other A4 engines to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Mallard's world speed record for a steam locomotive (126 mph on July 3, 1938) in 2013. The Eisenhower was given a cosmetic restoration that included removing paint off the side rods and valve gear and a repaint to an authentic color of BR Brunswick Green paint. The Eisenhower returned to Green Bay in mid - 2014. The locomotive is beautiful and it looks like it is ready to run on the rails! It was neat to get into the cab and command cars. A fantastic day it was!
