Scenes of the cosmetic restoration of LNER Class A4 Pacific 60010 (4489) Dominion of Canada at Locomotion, National Railway Museum, Shildon, between October 2012 and May 2013. This video shows both stills and moving images. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A SUDDEN BURST OF SOUND IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS VIDEO.
The loco is on loan from Canada and has been restored prior to going on display with the other preserved members of the class at NRM York in July. This is to commemorate the 126mph speed record set by Mallard 75 years ago in July..
Thanks must go to all those who have made the above events possible and to the workers, staff and volunteers at Shildon for allowing us visitors to see and photograph things safely at close quarters.
