Apixaban (Eliquis) is a blood thinner that can be indicated for both treatment as well as prophylaxis of few clinical conditions like deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and stroke. This drug acts by inhibition of clotting factor Xa, thereby it inhibits coagulation cascade.
